Brandie Freitas - Center Manager
My name is Brandie Freitas. I grew up in Central Oregon. I have always had a love for the outdoors and spend much of my time hiking, camping, and backpacking. I moved to Kansas straight out of High School and began my education in Psychology. I eventually went on and obtained a Masters in Clinical Psychology. I have a diverse experience working with many different people. I worked as a children’s case manager at a community mental health center and focused a lot of my time on treatment plans to help children overcome challenges with mental illness. Additionally, I have experience working as a social worker for department of social and health services in Seattle. Most recently, I worked as a Mental Health Therapist. I enjoyed working with families and working on ways to help families overcome challenges. I have one daughter and a husband. We love going for walks with our two dogs and coming up with family activities to do outside. We enjoy going to the lake, swimming, and exploring the area. We love to try new foods and are always looking for the best burger. I am excited to begin here at MSEHS as Center Manager in Sandpoint.
Sheila Farmin-Aumick - PAC Mgr/Ctr Mgr
My name is Sheila Farmin-Aumick. I am the Performance and Compliance Manager and my office is in Sandpoint. I have been with Mountain States Early Head Start for 21 years. My job is to make sure we have the best program possible! I partner with parents, staff and community members, to make sure we the follow rules and guidelines that keep our program improving and are in the best interest of the children and families. My background in home visiting and family support services has taught me how important it is to pay attention to the voices of program parents so that children are happy, healthy and ready for school.
Brenda Hammond - Mental Health Spec.
Hello! I am the Mental Health Specialist for Mountain States Early Head Start and have the pleasure of working with staff and families in all 4 Centers in the 3 counties that we serve. I am available to check in with the Family Consultants about their work, and to consult about mental health topics that come up as they work with families. I assist in facilitating referrals for families that are seeking mental health services, and am also available to meet with them, learn about the challenges they are facing and help them consider options that are available. I also meet with families and enrolled children to consult about issues related to social emotional development. Another part of my job is helping to build strong collaborations within the community and helping create an environment that fosters well-being at every level– among staff, parents and children. It is a wonderful job– and I enjoy every part of it!
I have 4 grown children and 4 grand-girls! I moved to Idaho from New Mexico in 1987.
Bambi Marshall - Center Assistant
Hello, my job is meet and greet our visiting families and community members. I provide support to our staff and assist our Playgroup Coordinator during family playgroups and prepare the snacks that are served. I enjoy meeting our families and interacting with them during their visits to our center. I also support a variety of center and community events. My family and I have been Sandpoint residents for over three decades and we absolutely love what our area has to offer; water sports, snow sports, hiking, camping and the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises.
Molly Fay - Family Consultant / PG Coord.
My name is Molly Fay. I have worked at Mountain States Early Head Start in Sandpoint since 2002. I facilitate Playgroups at the center where parents and children come together for an opportunity to socialize. I am also a Family Consultant and provide services for families on home visits. I appreciate learning about how each family is unique and strive to find the best way to support families and children, meeting them were they are at. I help with the community garden at our center and have a garden at home, too. I enjoy music and being outdoors in my free time.
Krista Haller - Family Consultant
Parenting transforms your life. As a family consultant, I feel honored to help support and guide families as they navigate this phase of life. I truly enjoy assisting families in connecting with their children, and to build school readiness skills they will use throughout their lifetime. Just as much, it is important to me to normalize the parenting nuances that are all too common (and yes—feeling overwhelmed and barely sleeping is totally normal!). My favorite moments as a family consultant are when I can slow down the busy-ness of life and support the family in simply delighting in one another.
Kris Logan - Family Consultant
Hi there, I’m Kris and have worked for MSEHS since 2003. I love working with parents and children and feel honored to be a part of each families’ journey. My special interests are in the area of Attachment. I am certified in the Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-up intervention (ABC) for infants and toddlers, And, I also really enjoy facilitating Circle of Security parenting classes.
As we all feel passionate about keeping children safe it has been a pleasure to also become trained in Stewards of Children sexual abuse prevention. Providing training to our MSEHS staff and enrolled families.
