What Happens at an Early Head Start Playgroup?

These Early Head Start playgroups are designed for infants and toddlers from birth to age three and their caregivers. Each Playgroup is planned to support children’s development and encourage parent involvement. Activities are simple, hands-on, and fun. They may include:

  • Art or sensory activities
  • Story and music time
  • Free play (blocks, dramatic play, gross motor opportunities, etc.)
  • Take-home snacks

These activities help children build skills in language, movement, problem-solving, and social interaction. Parents and caregivers also learn easy ways to support learning at home.
