Circle of Security©

Classes Training_CoS graduation

Circle of Security© is a relationship-based program designed to help you and your child connect and grow with one another. It’s offered for free to parents and legal guardians of children enrolled in our program.

By participating in Circle of Security, either through attending classes at one of our centers, or by having your Family Consultant provide the information to you in your home, you will learn how to discover, interpret, understand, and respond to your child’s challenging behaviors.

If you participate in the classes at one of our centers, you will also meet other parents who are experiencing some of the same challenges you are. Many parents have become friends by the end of the classes, resulting in more support not just for the children but for the parents too! Plus, it’s a lot of fun!!

ABC is a free parent training that focuses on nurturing the attachment between parents, or care providers, and their children.  Dr. Mary Dozier has been studying and doing research on attachment since 1994 and has developed this model for providing services to families.  There are 10 sessions designed to help parents provide more nurturing care and follow their child’s lead with delight.  The research shows us that these are core elements in helping children learn how to self-regulate and feel more connected to their parents.  These skills don’t always come naturally and your ABC parent coach will be there to help walk you through it.

During the 1 hour sessions, a highly trained parent coach will spend time with you and your child.  As you play and interact together, we talk about, and celebrate, the strengths you already have, and any challenges you may be having as they relate to the content of the attachment training.

This training is available to all enrolled EHS families with children between the ages of 6 months and 2 years.   If you are interested in learning more, please let your Family Consultant know!  We’d love to hear from you.
